Jaime Munguia (46-2, 35 KOs) makes his first defence of the WBA super-middleweight title when he faces Nikita Zon (12-0-1, 10 KOs) at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, October 31.
The fight – which features on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs Christian Mbilli – can be exclusively seen globally in over 200 countries on DAZN PPV.
Munguia became a world champion at the second attempt earlier this year, having previously come up short when he challenged then undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in May 2024.
He rebounded with a 10th round knockout of Erik Bazinyan, and then avenged a sixth-round stoppage loss to Bruno Surace when the two men met in a rematch of May of last year, landing a title fight with his unanimous decision win.
The 30-year-old Mexican then finally completed his rise to the top of the division back in May, when he beat Armando Resendiz on points to secure the WBA super-middleweight crown.
Munguia now makes his first defence – a former amateur standout who has gone unbeaten in 13 fights since turning professional, knocking out 10 opponents in the process.
He is a surprise challenge for Munguia’s first defence, but can Zon really pull off a massive upset here, or will the champion retain and move on to bigger and better things?
You can see for yourself thanks to DAZN’s global live streaming service, which is broadcasting the fight live from Riyadh.
