Denver Nuggets at Oklahoma City Thunder Predictions & Picks
Denver are tipped to cover as a betting underdog at Oklahoma City.
The Thunder have an advantage, having already played on Tuesday night, but this is a lot of points early in the season, and the Nuggets were great in this role during the 2025/26 campaign.
- Denver Nuggets are 7-2-0 ATS in the previous 9 meetings
- Denver Nuggets were 4-0-0 ATS as an underdog of 8.5 points or more last season
- The Over has cashed in each of the last 3 meetings
Head To Head
- Oklahoma City Thunder lead the all-time series 126-109
- Denver Nuggets won 127-107 when the two teams last met in April 2026
Denver Nuggets Form
Denver made some changes in the offseason, most notably giving themselves an offensive shot in the arm with the arrival of DeMar DeRozan.
Marvin Bagley III also joined the Nuggets as a free agent, while heading out the exit door were the likes of Peyton Watson, Tim Hardaway Jr and Bruce Brown.
They warmed up for the 2026/27 campaign by going 3-2 in their pre-season schedule.
Denver responded to a 109-97 defeat to Utah with victories against the Jazz, 117-106, and Chicago, 133-128.
The Nuggets then lost 122-110 at the LA Clippers, before closing out the pre-season with a 121-106 win at the Los Angeles Lakers.
Oklahoma City Thunder Form
Oklahoma City go into their home opener having gained a measure of revenge for last season’s playoff defeat.
The Thunder’s quest for back-to-back NBA titles was ended by San Antonio in the Western Conference Finals back in May, but their bid to win two titles in three years got off to the ideal start on Tuesday.
They knocked off the Spurs in San Antonio, 116-104, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander the star of the show.
SGA racked up 32 points, six rebounds and four assists for Oklahoma City, while the combination of Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren combined for 26 points and 14 rebounds.
Jared McCain made a big impact off the bench too, as he recorded 20 points off 7-9 shooting.
Verdict
Oklahoma City made an impressive start in San Antonio, and they can follow that up with a victory here.
However, Denver rarely disappoint as this big of an underdog, and their recent spread record against the Thunder is excellent, so give us the Nuggets and the free points tonight.
