Nets vs Knicks Expert Predictions & Picks

I'm taking the Under 221.5 when the Nets visit the Knicks on Monday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. ET, the top player prop is Jalen Brunson under 24.5 points based on his projected minutes.

Brooklyn is on the second night of a back-to-back, and New York doesn't run. The Knicks rank 27th in pace and their games are averaging 214.7 total points. Brooklyn ranks 29th in offensive rating and is turning it over 19 times a game.

Last season, the Nets went 1-13 on the second night of back-to-backs and topped 111 points once.

Brunson is the obvious name, but the number is the thing. He's averaging 25.5 points and has stayed under 24.5 in 4 of 6 games. If the Knicks pull away like they did at the Garden last season, he's sitting for most of the fourth quarter.

Key Stats

  • The Knicks have gone under 221.5 in 5 of 6 games
  • Brooklyn ranks 29th in offensive rating and averages 19 turnovers
  • Three of four meetings last season stayed under 221.5
  • Brunson scored 19, 27, 20 and 17 against Brooklyn last season

Head to Head

New York swept all four meetings last season. At the Garden, the Knicks won 134-98 and 120-66, and the second one finished at 186 total points. In Brooklyn, they won 113-100 and 93-92.

The 232 in the first game is the only one that cleared this total, and that came with the Knicks scoring 134 on their own. Brunson played 28.8 and 30.6 minutes in the two blowouts at the Garden.

Brooklyn Nets Form

Brooklyn is 1-5 and the offense is the issue. The Nets are scoring 108.2 points a game and putting up only 22.8 assists, and the turnovers keep killing possessions. Their last two games finished at 204 and 188.

Michael Porter Jr. (21.2 points) and Julius Randle (20.8) carry the scoring. Egor Dëmin and Tyler Bilodeau are out.

New York Knicks Form

The Knicks are 2-4 and scoring just 107 points a game, but the defense ranks 10th and they're grabbing 59.2 rebounds a game. They lost 98-93 at Philadelphia on Friday in a game that finished at 191.

Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 21.8 points and 13.5 rebounds. N'Faly Dante and Drew Eubanks are out, and Jose Alvarado is a game-time call. The risk to the Under is New York shooting the lights out, like it did in a 133-127 win in Chicago.

Verdict

A slow Knicks team and a tired Nets team that can't hold onto the ball. I'm on the Under and taking Brunson to watch the end of this from the bench. I've never been happier to bet on a guy sitting down.
