Portland Trail Blazers Form
Portland head back to Los Angeles having rebounded from their first defeat of the season with a three-game win streak that has propelled them to 6-1.
The Trail Blazers opened with a 124-83 blowout of Phoenix at home, and backed that up in Sacramento as they downed the Kings, 128-120.
They then made it three-in-a-row with a 136-129 upset of the Los Angeles Lakers on the road, only to lose 124-103 when they hosted Memphis a couple of days later.
Portland responded quickly though, and have now won each of their first three games on this roadtrip.
The Trail Blazers won 112-90 in Utah and 118-110 in Denver, before heading to Phoenix to down the Suns, 132-119.
Los Angeles Lakers Form
Los Angeles also come into this matchup on a three-game win streak – a run that has taken their record to 7-2.
The Lakers opened the campaign with a three-game win streak, beating Golden State 127-105 and the LA Clippers 125-117 at home, and Utah 132-123 on the road.
That run was ended by a 136-129 home defeat to Portland, and they then failed to follow up a 103-87 success at the Clippers as they lost 112-95 at Golden State.
Los Angeles have not lost since though, sparking this three-game run with home wins over Toronto, 131-125, and Miami, 138-117.
The Lakers then made it three-in-a-row on Wednesday night as they won 116-103 in Sacramento.
Verdict
Portland have made a tremendous start to the season, but the absence of Ja Morant is a blow.
Los Angeles are in good form – with Luka Doncic leading the charge – and they have the added motivation of revenge, so give us the Lakers in this clash.
