Florida at Texas Predictions & Picks – Longhorns To Bounce Back In College Football
- Texas are favored to cover the -9.5 spread after losing to Oklahoma
- Florida enter on a two-game SEC losing streak with offensive struggles
- Texas’ strong run defense could be key against Florida’s Jaden Baugh

Florida at Texas Predictions & Picks
Texas are tipped to cover as they bounce back from their Red River Rivalry collapse.
The Longhorns offense stalled in the second half in Oklahoma, but can get going again against a Florida defense that has given up a bunch of points in SEC action this season.
And on the opposite side of the football, this stout run defense can slow down Gators star Jaden Baugh.
- Texas are 4-1 this season
- Florida have lost back-to-back games to SEC opposition
- Florida are 0-2-0 ATS in defeats this season
- The Under has cashed in 3 of Texas’ last 4 games
Head To Head
- Texas lead the all-time series 3-1-1
- Florida won 29-21 when the two teams last met in October 2025
Florida Form
Florida head to Texas having failed to build on their upset of Ole Miss, losing back-to-back games to fall to 4-2.
The Gators opened with back-to-back non-conference games, and the offense ran riot as they beat Florida Atlantic 66-21 and Campbell 52-3.
They then kicked off their SEC schedule with a 44-39 win at Auburn, before returning home to upset top-five Ole Miss, 52-28.
Florida have not won since though, dropping back-to-back conference games to see their chances of an SEC Championship appearance effectively go up in smoke.
The Gators suffered an embarrassing 45-17 blowout defeat in Missouri, and that was followed by a 38-19 defeat when they hosted South Carolina last weekend.
Texas Form
Texas return home looking to build back from their first defeat of the season, which dropped them to 4-1.
The Longhorns kicked off the season with a 59-7 demolition of Texas State, and backed that up a week later as they knocked off AP’s top-ranked team at the time, Ohio State, 24-23.
They then concluded their non-conference schedule with a 30-6 success against UTSA.
That sent Texas into their SEC schedule with a perfect record, and they kept it intact as they downed Tennessee on the road 20-17.
However, the Longhorns failed to make it five-in-a-row last weekend, as their offense stalled in a 27-24 defeat to Red River rivals Oklahoma.
Verdict
Both teams are coming off defeats and both teams have has issues offensively in recent weeks.
The Longhorns have the better defense though, especially against the run, so we are backing the hosts to rebound here.
