San Jose Sharks vs Los Angeles Kings Prediction and Pick - ExpertPicks

San Jose have scored only nine goals in their last five games, and that makes the under the play.

At 10 p.m. ET, the San Jose Sharks visit the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena, and this Sharks vs Kings prediction backs a lower-scoring game between two teams that have struggled to score.

San Jose average 2.62 goals a game and Los Angeles 2.77, and the under 6.5 has landed in seven of the last 10 games across the two teams' last five. At 1.80 it's my main bet, although all three meetings last season and this season's opener produced seven goals or more.

Artemi Panarin is the one Kings shooter I trust. He's had three or more shots on goal in 10 of 13 games, including seven against Ottawa last week, and 1.67 is a good price for him.

Brandt Clarke has quietly become a regular on the scoresheet. He has a point in eight of 13 games and has assisted in each of his last two, so 1.95 is worth backing.

San Jose have conceded the first goal in 12 of their 16 games.
The Sharks' penalty kill is working at 84.9%.
Panarin has eight goals and 42 shots on goal, including three on the power play.
Clarke has seven assists and is playing more than 19 minutes a night.

Head to Head

San Jose won the 2025-26 season series 2-1, with all three games decided by one goal, and they lead this season's series 1-0.

The last meeting was October 3, 2026, at SAP Center at San Jose, where the Sharks won 5-4 in overtime. Los Angeles came back from 4-2 down with goals from Erik Haula and Panarin, but Igor Chernyshov scored his second of the night at 3.18 of overtime.

Sharks Form

San Jose are 7-8-1 and have lost four of their last five.

On Saturday, Ottawa scored three times in the second period and won 5-1 in San Jose. Monday's 2-1 loss to Calgary was another quiet night, as William Stromgren made it 2-0 midway through the third before Sam Dickinson's late goal.

Chernyshov is out with an upper-body injury, according to ESPN's preview, which takes one of San Jose's young scorers out of the lineup. Alexander Wennberg and Quentin Musty are also out. Yaroslav Askarov started on Monday, so Alex Nedeljkovic is the likely starter, though that hasn't been confirmed.

Kings Form

Los Angeles are 4-7-2 and have won just one of five games at home.

On October 29, the Kings led Ottawa 5-1 in the second, gave up four straight goals and then won 6-5 on Quinton Byfield's goal at 3.37 of overtime. On Saturday, they came back from 2-0 down to tie Buffalo, but Tage Thompson's power-play goal at 13.40 of the third won it for the Sabres.

Kevin Fiala is out with a leg injury, per ESPN, and Mats Zuccarello is also out. Adrian Kempe is day to day. Los Angeles haven't confirmed whether Darcy Kuemper or Anton Forsberg starts.

Verdict

Two struggling offences should keep this under seven goals, with Panarin still getting his shots and Clarke on the scoresheet.
