Head to Head
This will be the first-ever meeting between Fenerbahce and Liverpool.
Fenerbahce Form
Fenerbahce named Dirk Kuyt as interim manager on Wednesday. The former Liverpool attacker replaced Ismail Kartal after patchy recent form.
The Yellow Canaries are winless in six of their last 10 matches and have failed to win in their previous three. Kartal’s resignation followed a 2-2 Champions League home draw with Slavia Prague and a 2-1 loss at Galatasaray.
The Turkish outfit also lost 2-1 at home against Goztepe in the Super Lig. Matteo Guendouzi scored in the first half and Fenerbahce allowed 1.4 XG and shipped two goals in the second period.
Liverpool Form
Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool are third in the 2026/27 Champions League group after winning all three matches.
The Reds began their European campaign with a 2-1 comeback home win against Atletico Madrid. They also thrashed LASK 6-3 on the road during a run of four successive away victories.
Liverpool also beat Villarreal 4-3 and Brighton 2-0 before a 1-1 EFL Cup home draw against Chelsea.
The Merseysiders then lost for just the second time this season following a 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal. Iraola’s side conceded after 16 minutes and couldn’t reply with 17 shots and 1.05 XG.
Team News
Fenerbahce midfielder Marco Asensio has missed the last four games due to a knee issue and is unlikely to feature. Defender Jayden Oosterwolde is also ruled out with an ACL injury.
Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike is ruled out with an Achilles injury. Defensive trio Giovanni Leoni, Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong are unavailable due to injury.
Verdict
Fenerbahce look shaky after a recent drop-off in form and Liverpool are a decent away side. Stick with the Reds to win in the Champions League.
