Tennessee at South Carolina Predictions & Picks

Tennessee are tipped to cover as a road betting underdog.

The Volunteers’ defense just put on a clinic against Alabama, and they can shut down this South Carolina offense to ensure that they – at the very least – finish within a field goal of the Gamecocks.
  • Tennessee are 2-0-0 ATS as a betting underdog this season
  • Tennessee are 6-1 through their first 7 games
  • South Carolina are 2-4-0 ATS in their 6 games
  • The Under has cashed in 6 of Tennessee’s 7 games so far

Head To Head

  • Tennessee lead the all-time series 29-11-2
  • Tennessee won 41-20 when the two teams last met in September 2023

Tennessee Form

Tennessee arrive in South Carolina on a three-game win streak that has improved their record to 6-1.

The Volunteers opened the season with three non-conference wins, beating Furman 56-9, Georgia Tech 45-24 and Kennesaw State 42-9.

They failed to keep that going in their SEC opener, but they did run number one-ranked Texas close in a 20-17 defeat.

Tennessee rebounded a week later with a 24-14 win over Auburn, and backed that up on the road as they downed Arkansas 24-17.

The Volunteers then made it three SEC wins in a row last weekend, as they upset Alabama in a 26-10 victory.

South Carolina Form

South Carolina return from the bye week looking to build on the win that ended a three-game losing run, and improved their record to 3-3.

The Gamecocks kicked off their campaign with back-to-back non-conference wins, blowing out Kent State 57-0 and Towson 45-9 at home.

However, they failed to keep that winning run going as they dropped their SEC opener at home to Mississippi State, 41-34.

South Carolina then suffered a 49-18 blowout in Alabama, before returning home for a 35-34 defeat to Kentucky.

The Gamecocks did stop the rot in Florida though, as they upset the Gators 38-19 in ‘The Swamp’ to get off the mark in the SEC.

Verdict

The spread has swung in South Carolina’s favour, but we maintain our confidence in Tennessee.

The Volunteers defense just dominated the Alabama offense – something only Georgia has managed so far this season – so give us the visitors and the free points.
