Best NHL Props Oct 22 - Player Props for the NHL Tonight
Kirill Kaprizov anytime goal, Connor McDavid 2+ points and Nick Schmaltz anytime goal are our three best NHL player props for Thursday night.
We're taking one prop from three of our four games tonight. All three players are in form and face a defence that gives them room.
Kirill Kaprizov Anytime Goal vs Calgary Flames
Kaprizov has 11 goals in 10 games and has scored in seven of them, including four straight. He isn't relying on one bounce a night either, averaging 4.2 shots over his last five.
Calgary are the right team to run that streak against. The Flames have won two of eight, allow 4.62 goals a game and have given up the first goal in six of those eight games.
Mikael Backlund is day to day, which could leave Calgary without their top shutdown centre. Minnesota's power play is also clicking at 29%, which gives Kaprizov another way onto the scoresheet.
Pick - Kirill Kaprizov anytime goal
Connor McDavid 2+ Points vs Carolina Hurricanes
McDavid has 26 points in nine games, with a point in every one and two or more in seven. He just put up three assists against Minnesota.
McDavid stays on the top line with Leon Draisaitl and Vasily Podkolzin, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins returns to deepen the middle six.
Carolina allow just 2.45 goals a game, so this isn't a soft matchup, and at 1.64 the price is short. His seven multi-point games in nine still clear that bar, but I wouldn't take it below 1.60.
Pick - Connor McDavid 2+ points
Nick Schmaltz Anytime Goal vs Seattle Kraken
Schmaltz has seven goals in 10 games and has scored in six of them. He's a big reason Utah score 3.8 goals a game.
The special teams favour Utah. The Mammoth's power play is converting at 36.1%, and Seattle's penalty kill sits at 72.4%.
Seattle also give up 31 shots and 3.4 goals a game. Ryan Lindgren is out, leaving their blue line thinner. Schmaltz is the Utah player I want against that defence.
Pick - Nick Schmaltz anytime goal
Verdict
Kirill Kaprizov anytime goal, Connor McDavid 2+ points and Nick Schmaltz anytime goal are our three best NHL player props for Thursday night.
