Inter Miami vs Cincinnati Predictions & Picks
Inter Miami were left stunned by New York Red Bulls in their last match as their impressive three-game winning run was brought to a grinding halt on the back of a 2-0 loss.
Cincinnati were able to turn one win into two as they followed up their 2-1 win over DC United with a 2-0 win over the same opponent.
- Two of Miami’s last three wins have been to nil
Head To Head
Miami have won four of their last 10 against Cincinnati, with the latter winning four times and two games ending as draws.
Inter Miami Form
Inter Miami slipped down to third in the Eastern Conference on the back of a shock 2-0 loss to a New York Red Bulls side that had lost their previous two heading into their clash.
The home team could not build on wins over DC United, New York City and Atlanta, with only their second defeat in 15 home matches giving New England the chance to move above them, which is exactly what they did.
Now, attention turns to bouncing back at the first time of asking. With Chicago Fire in fourth currently four points behind Miami, the home side will be desperate to ensure that one loss does not become two, while they will want to retake their place as the second best side in the Eastern Conference.
Cincinnati Form
Cincinnati are edging towards rubber stamping their place in the top-nine of the Eastern Conference following consecutive wins in the tournament.
Their 2-1 home win over DC United was immediately followed by a 2-0 away win over the same opponent. This was a real boost to their morale after defeats to New England and Columbus Crew.
Taking maximum points from their last two outings has seen Cincinnati move onto 42 points. This means they are four clear of Columbus Crew in 10th with the regular season ebbing away.
Heading to take on Miami, Cincinnati will feel that they have a big chance to stun their hosts. However, having won just three of their 16 on the road this season, the travelling side have been poor. At least one side has failed to score in four of the last five meetings between the pair, and I predict that this dubious honour will fall to Cincinnati in this one as their winning run is brought to an end.
Verdict
I am backing Miami to win to nil as they bounce back from their defeat with a crucial win.
