Carlos Alcaraz has always looked comfortable against Casper Ruud, winning six of their last seven meetings. He arrives in this semifinal on a winning streak after lifting the title in Vienna last week, and the chance to claim a maiden Paris Masters crown only adds to his drive.

Six of his last seven victories have come in straight sets, and against an opponent he has dominated for years, Alcaraz looks extremely difficult to oppose.

Alcaraz Seeks to Extend Perfect Indoor Season in Paris

  • Ruud has a 4-6 career record in Masters semifinals.
  • He has a 1-2 record against top-five opponents in 2026.
  • Alcaraz has a 10-4 career record in Masters semifinals.
  • He has a perfect 9-0 record on indoor hard courts in 2026.

Ruud Builds on Shanghai Revival With Historic Paris Run

Casper Ruud defeated Nuno Borges in straight sets to book his place in the semifinals in Paris, winning 7-6, 6-4. He fired 10 aces and saved both break points he faced during the match.

This is the Norwegian's best result at the Paris Masters. He previously reached the quarterfinals here in 2021 but lost in straight sets.

After a disappointing stretch during the grass-court and North American swings due to physical issues, Ruud has shown encouraging signs recently. He reached the quarterfinals in Shanghai and has built on that result by making the semifinals in Paris.

This is his first semifinal at a hard-court Masters event since 2022. Ruud has a 4-6 career record in Masters semifinals but has won his last two matches at this stage.

Alcaraz Survives Fritz Scare to Reach Career-Best Paris Stage

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Taylor Fritz in a dramatic three-set comeback to reach the semifinals, winning 6-7, 7-5, 6-3. He trailed by a set and 3-5 at one stage and saved two match points before turning the match around.

With this victory, Alcaraz extended his winning streak in Masters quarterfinals to seven matches and secured his best result at the Paris Masters.

Despite an injury-disrupted season, the Spaniard had reached seven quarterfinals before this week in 2026, winning six of them. His only defeat at that stage came against Ben Shelton at the US Open a few months ago.

Alcaraz has a 10-4 career record in Masters semifinals, with four of those defeats coming at hard-court events in North America. He will now look to take another step towards the title in Paris.
