Both players have built confidence this week, although Medvedev’s stronger recent performances make him the favourite.

Medvedev Seeks To Cap His Hangzhou Revival With Silverware
Daniil Medvedev defeated Roman Safiullin in straight sets to book his place in the final in Hangzhou, winning 7-5, 6-4. He trailed by a break in the second set but quickly bounced back to complete the victory in straight sets.
The Russian recently suffered a disappointing straight-set loss to Frances Tiafoe at the US Open, but he has rebuilt some much-needed momentum ahead of a demanding schedule in the coming weeks.
The 30-year-old has endured some disappointing losses in recent months after making a solid start to the season, with all of his last eight defeats coming against lower-ranked opponents. Winning the title would provide another confidence boost, and he will look to make the most of this opportunity.
Medvedev has a strong record against outside-the-top-10 players in tour-level finals, winning 16 of his 21 such matches, including eight of his last nine. He will look to extend that record this week.

Rublev Finds His Rhythm When It Matters Most
After surviving a tough match against Hugo Gaston in the quarterfinals, Andrey Rublev defeated Kyrian Jacquet in straight sets to reach the final this week, winning 7-6, 6-1. He did not face a break point and won 86% of his first-serve points.
The 28-year-old arrived this week short of confidence and form after failing to win multiple matches in six of his last seven events, which cost him his place in the top 20 in the rankings.
However, reaching the final this week may not give him a significant rise in the rankings, but it will restore some much-needed confidence and help him reset his season.
This is his third tour-level final in Asia. He won the title in Hong Kong in 2024 but lost at this stage in Shanghai in 2023. He will be looking for his first hard-court title since last year.
