Oscar Valdez Form

Oscar Valdez boasts a perfect 30-0 record heading into this fight, with 23 wins coming via stoppage.

Valdez became a world champion for the first time in July 2016 when he stopped Matias Rueda inside two rounds to win the WBO featherweight title.

He then reeled off six consecutive defences of the belt – a run that included a unanimous decision win over Scott Quigg.

The 31-year-old moved up in weight class in 2019 and made an immediate impact with a seventh-round stoppage of Adam Lopez.

Valdez followed that up with a 10th round stoppage of Jayson Velez that earned him a shot at the WBC super-featherweight title.

He took his chance by stopping Miguel Berchelt in the 10th round in February 2021, and later that year he successfully defended it for the first time.

Valdez bested Robson Conceicao over 12 rounds to set up this shot for the WBO and Ring Magazine titles.

Shakur Stevenson Form

Shakur Stevenson also boasts a flawless record of 17-0, with nine of his victories coming via stoppage.

Stevenson quickly made his way up the featherweight ranks and won the WBO title in only his 13th professional outing.

The 24-year-old American earned a decision win over Joel Gonzalez to win the vacant belt in October 2019.

Instead of defending that belt he moved up to super-featherweight, stopping Felix Carabello in the sixth round.

Stevenson then recorded a unanimous decision win over Toka Khan Clary that seal a shot at the interim WBO title.

He claimed the belt with a decision win over Jeremiah Nakathila, but his first defence had a much more emphatic ending.

Stevenson dispatched Jamel Herring in the 10th round and his reward is the chance to add two more belts to his collection.
