The 34-year-old Ukrainian bounced back quickly though, stopping Masayoshi Nakatani in the ninth round
He then registered a decision win over Richard Commey to improve his career record to 16-2, with 11 wins coming by stoppage.

The 26-year-old has won several minor titles on his climb up the lightweight ladder.
