Tournament of Champions Preview & Picks - Best PGA Tour Picks For Hawaii
- The Sentry Tournament of Champions takes place between January 5-8
- The tournament takes place at the Kapalua Resort, Hawaii
- Our four contenders who could win the title on Sunday.

An elite field of the world's best golfers compete for the first PGA Tour title of 2023 at the Kapalua Resort. Which golfer will lift the trophy come Sunday?
Cameron Smith will not be back to defend his title after his record-breaking feat last year as he has joined the LIV Golf Invitational Series.
The tournament will feature 39 golfers made up of winners from 2022 and the top 30 from last season's final FedEx Cup points standings.
The players will tee off on Plantation Course this weekend.
Past and present Major winners in the lineup include Keegan Bradley, Matt Fitzpatrick, Hideki Matsuyama, Collin Morikawa, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler, Adam Scott, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Thomas.
These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.
Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler had an outstanding 2022, winning his first Major, rising to number one in the world rankings and claiming three additional PGA Tour titles.
The 26-year-old has been superb touch in his last six tournaments, placing T3 at the BMW Championship, T2 at the Tour Championship, T45 at the CJ Cup, T3 at the World Wide Technology Championship, T9 at the Houston Open and second at the Hero World Challenge.
Other notable performances by the American last year include victories at the Phoenix Open, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, WGC Dell Technologies Match Play and the Masters.
Scheffler also finished T7 at the Genesis Invitational and runner-up at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
He has only featured at the Tournament of Champions on one occasion, finishing T13 in 2021.
Scheffler has been knocking hard in his recent appearances on the golf course and will look to start his new year on the right note with victory in Hawaii.
Sungjae Im
Sungjae Im has been in great touch since July 2022, placing T2 at the 3M Open and Wyndham Championship, 12th at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T15 at the BMW Championship, T2 at the Tour Championship, 7th at the Shriners Children's Open, T29 at the ZOZO Championship, T34 at the CJ Cup and T8 at the Hero World Challenge.
The 24-year-old's other accomplishments last year include finishing T8 at the Tournament of Champions, T11 at the American Express, T6 at the Farmers Insurance Open, T8 at the Masters, T15 at the Charles Schwab Challenge and T10 at the Memorial Tournament.
He has competed at the Sentry Tournament of Champions on two occasions, placing T5 in 2021 and T8 in 2022.
Im has been a model of consistency lately and will fancy his chances to lift the trophy as he has performed well at this event in the past.
Cameron Young
Cameron Young's last eight starts have been excellent. He placed second at the Open Championship, T2 at the Rocket Morgage Classic, T31 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T23 at the BMW Championship, 19th at the Tour Championship, T53 at the ZOZO Championship, T23 at the CJ Cup, and third at the Hero World Challenge.
Additional highlights the American achieved last year include finishing T2 at the Genesis Invitational, T16 at the Honda Classic, T13 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, T3 at the RBC Heritage, T2 at the Wells Fargo Championship and T3 at the PGA Championship.
The 25-year-old is making his first appearance at this tournament.
Young went close to winning on numerous occasions last year, finishing runner-up four times and placing third three times. Can he start the new year with his maiden PGA Tour title?
Seamus Power
Seamus Power's last three tournaments of 2022 were outstanding, winning the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, placing T3 at the World Wide Technology Championship and T5 at the RSM Classic.
Other significant results for the 35-year-old include placing T3 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, T14 at the American Express, T9 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, T5 at the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play, T17 at the AT&T Byron Nelson, T9 at the PGA Championship, and T12 at the US Open.
The Irishman has made one appearance at this event, placing T15 in 2022.
Power comes into the Tournament of Champions on the back of top results and could upstage with others at the Kapalua Resort.
Verdict
Im has the form to go all the way and win the Tournament of Champions.
Young went close multiple times in 2022 and can challenge for the championship at the Kapalua Resort.
Power was in great touch towards the end of the year and is the long-shot value bet in Hawaii.
