Kansas City enter this series having rebounded from a seven-game losing skid with a three-game sweep of Washington.
The Royals’ miserable run began with a 4-3 defeat in Pittsburgh that prevented them from completing a sweep of the Pirates.
They then returned home for a three-game series with Detroit and suffered 7-6, 3-1 and 4-2 defeats at the hands of the Tigers.
Kansas City were swept at home in their next series too, as they were beaten 2-1, 9-0 and 2-0 by San Francisco.
The Royals did rebound in Washington however, as they won all three meetings with the Nationals, 1-0, 3-0 and 7-4.
Atlanta Braves Form
Atlanta enter this series riding a three-game win streak and having won five of their last six games.
The Braves began the second half of September with back-to-back home defeats to the Los Angeles Dodgers, losing 9-2 and 0-9 to split a four-game series.
They then made a losing start to the series in Cincinnati, but rebounded from the 6-5 defeat to the Reds with 7-1 and 15-3 victories.
Atlanta lost the series-opener in Miami too, but again they responded well to a defeat as they bounced back from a 4-3 loss with 6-2 and 5-4 wins.
The Braves then made it three-in-a-row with a 5-1 victory in a one-off meeting with the New York Mets.
Verdict
Atlanta are in good form and have dominated Kansas CIty over the past 18 months, so we expect the Braves to cover as they take this one.
