Los Angeles head back out on the road having dropped back-to-back games to leave themselves on the brink of a World Series defeat.
The Dodgers dropped the opening game in Toronto, 11-4, but rebounded the next night with a 5-1 victory to return home level at one win apiece.
That meant they would clinch the series with three consecutive victories at Dodger Stadium, and they took their opening home game of the series, 6-5.
However, Los Angeles failed to back that up, losing 6-2 and 6-1 to the Blue Jays, and that means a defeat on Friday night will end their World Series dream.
The Dodgers’ dominant 93-69 regular-season record was not enough to earn them a playoff bye, but they made light work of the Wild Card with 10-5 and 8-4 wins over Cincinnati.
They then won 5-3 and 4-3 in Philadelphia, before rebounding from an 8-2 defeat with a series-clinching 2-1 win.
Los Angeles then booked their place in the World Series by sweeping Milwaukee in four games, beating the Brewers 2-1 and 5-1 on the road and 3-1 and 5-1 at home.
Toronto Blue Jays Form
Toronto return home with the opportunity to win the World Series on Friday night, having won back-to-back road games to take a 3-2 series late on.
The Blue Jays got hot late on as they won the series opener with Los Angeles, 11-4, but they failed to make the most of home advantage as they lost the second meeting, 5-1.
They then fell behind for the first time in the series as they were beaten 6-5 at Dodger Stadium, only to respond in style.
Toronto regained the series lead in Los Angeles thanks to 6-2 and 6-1 victories, and that means a victory on Friday night will see them become world champions.
The Blue Jays booked their place in the playoffs and earned a first-round bye thanks to a 94-68 record.
They opened their postseason campaign with 10-1 and 13-7 wins over the New York Yankees, before bouncing back from a 9-6 road defeat with a series-clinching win.
Toronto then dug themselves into an early hole in the AL Championship Series as they lost 3-1 and 10-3 at home to Seattle, but they rallied on the road with 13-4 and 8-2 victories.
The Blue Jays dropped Game 5, losing 6-2, but they again responded to adversity, this time clinching the series with 6-2 and 4-3 wins.
Verdict
Toronto turned this series around on the road, but we are expecting one more swerve to set up Game 7.
The Dodgers have been dominant on the road and Yamamoto has been in tremendous form in the postseason.
