New York go into tonight's game looking to re-establish a two-game lead in the American League Championship Series.

The Yankees earned home field advantage for this series and took full advantage in the first couple of games as they beat Cleveland 5-2 and 6-3.

However, they failed to make it three wins in a row on Thursday night, suffering a 7-5 defeat in Cleveland.

Despite that loss New York have been in excellent form in the postseason so far, winning five of their seven games.

The Yankees began the playoffs by splitting the first two games of the series with Kansas City, but quickly bounced back from a Game 2 defeat with 3-2 and 2-1 wins to advance.

Cleveland Guardians Form

Cleveland enter tonight's matchup looking to build on last night's win and knot up the American League Championship Series at two wins apiece.

The Guardians visited New York for the first two games of the series, and when they returned home they trailed 2-0 thanks to 5-2 and 6-3 to the Yankees.

They steadied the ship on Thursday night though, winning 7-5, and they will now look to build on that over the next two games ta home.

Cleveland are no strangers to long series, having needed five games to get past Detroit in the Division round.

The Guardians trailed 2-1 in that series too, but battled back to force a Game 5 decider with the Tigers, which they won 5-4.

Verdict

NY Yankees @ CLE Cavaliers - Game 4

Cleveland are back in this series and now they get to face a pitcher who was beaten up in his last two starts.

Luis Gil has the added pressure of this being his playoff debut too, so give us the Guardians again in Game 4.
