Toronto enter this matchup having lost back-to-back games to trail for the first time in the 2025 MLB World Series.
The Blue Jays rallied from an early deficit to blow out Los Angeles in Game 1 at home, 11-4, but they failed to build on that as they lost their next two games.
They were beaten 5-1 in their second game at home, before heading to Los Angeles for a 6-5 defeat in Game 3.
Toronto had entered the World Series showdown with the Dodgers having won seven of their 11 playoff postseason games.
The Blue Jays took the AL East with a 94-68 record, and that was enough to earn them a bye for the first round of the playoffs.
When they did finally begin their playoff campaign they put together back-to-back home wins over the New York Yankees, 10-1 and 13-7, before rebounding from a 9-6 road defeat with a series-sealing 5-2 victory.
Toronto dug themselves into an early hole in the AL Championship Series as they fell to 3-1 and 10-3 defeats at home to Seattle, but they responded to those setbacks with 13-4 and 8-2 wins on the road.
The Blue Jays failed to make it three-in-a-row as they were beaten 6-2 in Game 5, but with their World Series dream on the line they rallied to clinch the series with 6-2 and 4-3 victories.
Los Angeles Dodgers Form
Los Angeles go into this matchup having rebounding from a Game 1 defeat with back-to-back wins to take the lead in the 2025 World Series.
The Dodgers opened this series with a disappointing 11-4 defeat in Toronto, but responded the following night with a 5-1 victory at the Rogers Centre.
They then backed that up in their first home game of the series on Monday night, as they battled to a 6-5 victory to go 2-1 up in the series.
Los Angeles' 93-69 regular-season record was not enough to earn they a playoff bye, but that did no matter as they swept Cincinnati in the Wild Card thanks to 10-5 and 8-4 victories.
The Dodgers then made a dream start to the series with Philadelphia as they won 5-3 and 4-3 on the road, before responding to their first postseason setback, an 8-2 defeat, with a series-clinching 2-1 win.
That set up a NL Championship Series showdown with Milwaukee, and they were able to complete an emphatic sweep of the Brewers in four games.
They opened with 2-1 and 5-1 victories on the road in Milwaukee, before returning home to wrap things up with 3-1 and 5-1 victories.
Verdict
It took 18 innings to settle Game 3, and we are backing the Dodgers to follow up that win here.
Los Angeles have home advantage and a great recent record when playing for the second straight day, and they are also sending in-form Ohtani to the mound for this one.
