Boston Celtics Form

After sweeping Brooklyn in the first round, Boston have had back-to-back seven-game series on their way to the finals.

They came from behind three times to down the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

The Celtics then engaged in a back-and-forth series with Miami that saw them go right to the wire.

Both teams split their first two home games of the series, leaving them locked at 2-2 when they met in Miami a week ago.

Boston shut down Miami as they grinded out a 93-80 win, but they then passed up the chance to clinch at home as they lost 111-103.

The Celtics were able to wrap up the series on the road though, winning 100-96 in Game 7 last Sunday night.

The trip of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart combined to lead the team to victory.

Tatum finished the game with 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, while Smart put up 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Brown contributed 24 points, six rebounds and six assists, and Al Horford dominated in the paint with 14 rebounds on the night.

Grant Williams stepped off the bench to contribute 11 points and six rebounds in the series-clinching victory.

Golden State Warriors Form

Golden State have dropped some games but their road to the NBA Finals has been a relatively smooth one.

They made straightforward work of Denver in round one with a 4-1 series win, and they downed Memphis 4-2 to secure a place in the Western Conference Finals.

There they powered past Dallas in five games to set up this showdown with Boston.

The Warriors rolled over the Mavericks in a 112-87 win in Game 1, and then followed that up with a 126-117 success.

They threatened to sweep Dallas when they won Game 3 on the road, 109-100.

Golden State were unable to close out the series in Texas though, losing 119-109 to take the series back to California.

The Warriors made no mistake in clinching at the second attempt though, downing Dallas 120-110 in Game 5.

All five starters hit double digits in scoring, with Klay Thompson leading the way for Golden State with 32 points.

Andrew Wiggins combined 18 points with 10 rebounds, while Kevon Looney put up 10 points and 18 rebounds.

Draymond Green ended the game with 17 points, nine assists and six rebounds, with Stephen Curry registering 15 points, nine assists and three steals.

Jordan Poole made an impact off the bench with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists.
