Detroit head to the ‘Bay Area’ on the back of a defeat last night, but in good form with nine wins in their last 12 games.
The Pistons began this good run with a 114-110 victory in Cleveland, which was followed by home wins against New York, 121-90, and Chicago, 108-93.
They failed to make it four-in-a-row as they lost 98-92 to the LA Clippers, but they responded strongly to that setback as they reeled off four consecutive victories.
Detroit reeled off home wins against Phoenix, 108-105, Indiana, 121-78, and Boston, 104-103, before heading out on the road to down New Orleans 111-104.
The Pistons then returned home to lose 111-104 to Houston, and after rebounding to beat Sacramento 139-116 and Denver 109-107, they lost 114-96 in Phoenix last night.
Golden State Warriors Form
Golden State enter this matchup in a similar vein of form to Detroit, having won eight of their previous 12 games.
The Warriors started this sequence with back-to-back victories at home, as they downed Milwaukee 120-113 and Sacramento 137-103.
They then answered a 124-111 home loss to Atlanta with four straight wins at home, beating Portland 119-97, New York 126-113, Charlotte 136-116 and Miami 135-112.
Golden State’s run was ended by a 145-127 loss to Toronto and a 123-115 defeat at Dallas, and they then split back-to-back games in Minnesota, beating the Timberwolves 111-85 before losing 108-83 in the return game.
The Warriors issued a swift response to that loss in the ‘Twin Cities’ as they moved on to down Utah 140-124.
Verdict
Detroit arrive in excellent form, but playing for the second consecutive night on the road is not ideal, especially against a Golden State team who are strong at home.
