The Rockets avoided a third straight defeat though, as they won 117-106 at the LA Clippers, and they backed that up in the quarter-finals of the NBA Cup as they beat Golden State 91-90.
Oklahoma City Thunder Form
Oklahoma City come into this NBA Cup quarter-final match in good form, having won eight of their previous nine games and each of the last four.
The Thunder made an outstanding start to the season to enter December boasting a 15-4 record.
They started the month with a 119-116 defeat in Houston, but they have not lost a game since then to improve to 19-5.
Oklahoma City got back to winning ways with a 133-106 blowout of Utah at home, and then went out on the road to crush Toronto 129-92.
The Thunder made it three-in-a-row with a 119-109 victory in New Orleans, before returning home to down Dallas, 118-104, in the NBA Cup quarter-finals.
Verdict
These two teams have set the standard in the Western Conference during the first couple of months.
