The Lakers lost their first five games of the season, before finally stopping the rot with home wins against Denver and New Orleans.

They quickly returned to losing ways though, with a 130-116 loss to Utah sparking a five-game losing skid.

Los Angeles finally stopped the rot with a 116-103 win against Brooklyn, and this time they were able to build on a win.

The Lakers made it back-to-back wins with a 128-121 victory against Detroit, and then followed it up with a 123-92 blowout of San Antonio.

Phoenix are looking to spark another win streak, having seen their early season form cool off in recent weeks.

The Suns finished the 2021/22 regular season with the NBA’s best record, and looked like they could do it again when they won six of their first seven games of the current campaign.

However, a 108-106 home loss to Portland began a downturn that has seen them win just four of their last nine games.

Phoenix started last week with a 113-112 defeat in Miami, before bouncing back with a 130-119 victory against Golden State.

The Suns then lost 134-133 at Utah, but they again responded immediately as they beat New York 116-95.
