Los Angeles head straight to San Antonio having won for the fourth time in five games just last night.
The Lakers endured a season-worst run last month as they lost three games in a row, starting with defeats at the LA Clippers, 103-88, and Phoenix, 132-108.
They then fell 119-96 at home to Houston on Christmas Day, before avoiding a fourth consecutive loss as they took down Sacramento, 125-101.
Los Angeles failed to build on that as they wrapped up 2025 with a 128-107 defeat to Detroit, but they are yet to lose in 2026.
The Lakers began the year with back-to-back home wins over Memphis, beating the Grizzlies 128-121 and 120-114, and followed that up with a 111-103 win in New Orleans last night.
San Antonio Spurs Form
San Antonio enter this matchup having lost just last night – their fourth defeat in the space of six games.
The Spurs were on a roll in December as they reeled off eight consecutive wins, including three successes against defending champions Oklahoma City.
They beat the Thunder 111-109 on the road, and then downed OKC 130-110 at home on December 23 and 117-102 on the road on Christmas Day.
San Antonio’s streak was ended by a 127-114 loss to Utah and a 113-101 defeat to Cleveland, but they rebounded to close out 2025 with a 134-132 win over New York.
The Spurs then kicked off 2026 with a 123-113 victory in Indiana, but they have not been able to back that up, losing 115-110 to Portland and 106-105 in Memphis.
