The Hurricanes split their first four games of the season, but hit a hot streak between late October and early November as they won eight straight games.
That streak cane to a halt with a 6-4 defeat when they paid a visit to Colorado, only for them to rebound immediately with a 5-2 win in Vegas.
Carolina failed to follow that up as they were beaten 4-1 in Utah to wrap up that road trip, but they once again responded quickly to a loss.
