The Blue Jackets experienced a rough run earlier this month as they lost four consecutive games – their joint worst run of the season so far.
They snapped that skid with a 3-2 overtime win in Utah though, and then backed that up by beating Calgary 5-3, Vancouver 4-1 and Pittsburgh 4-3.
Columbus failed to make it five-in-a-row as they fell 4-1 at home to Ottawa, but they have responded strongly to that loss.
The Blue Jackets reeled off three straight wins at home, beating Dallas 1-0, Tampa Bay 8-5 and Philadelphia 5-3.
Chicago Blackhawks Form
Chicago come into this game in miserable form, having lost seven of their previous nine games and each of the last four.
The Blackhawks enjoyed a solid start to 2026 as they won five of their first six games of the year, but it has largely been all downhill since then.
They lost three straight games at home as they were beaten 4-1 by Edmonton, 3-1 by Calgary and 5-2 by Boston.
Chicago rallied to beat Winnipeg 2-0 at home and Carolina 4-3 on the road, but they have not won since then.
The Blackhawks lost 2-1 to Tampa Bay and 5-1 to Florida at home, before heading out on the road to lose 4-3 at Minnesota and 6-2 in Pittsburgh.
