The Oilers won five straight in the first half of December and then rebounded from a 6-5 loss to Florida with three straight wins prior to Christmas.
They then dropped back-to-back games after a brief break, losing 4-3 in overtime in Los Angeles and 5-3 in regulation in Anaheim.
Edmonton did close out 2024 in positive fashion though, returning home to down Utah 4-1.
The Oilers then backed that up with a 3-2 victory over Anaheim, before heading back out on the road to beat Seattle 4-2.
Boston Bruins Form
Boston go into this matchup looking to stop the rot, having now lost each of their previous four games.
The Bruins went into the brief Christmas break on a decent run of form, having won four times during a five-game spell.
They lost their first post-Christmas game though, falling 6-2 to Columbus at home, only to avenge that defeat at home, beating the Blue Jackets 4-0.
Boston have not won since though, with a 3-1 defeat in Washington in their final game of 2024 proving to be the start of a four-game skid.
The Bruins then went out on the road to lose 2-1 at the New York Rangers and 6-4 in Toronto, before returning home for a 5-4 overtime defeat to the New York Islanders.
Verdict
Edmonton have been in good form since late November and have a great recent record at the TD Garden.
They are backed to keep their good run going against a Boston team who have stacked up a bunch of losses over the past several days.
