Edmonton head back out on the road knowing that a victory in Game 5 will give them the chance to wrap up the series in their next home outing.
The Oilers, who went 49-27-6 in the regular season, marched through the first round of the playoffs with a 4-1 victory over Los Angeles.
The second round series against Vancouver was not as easy, but they finally got the job done when they followed up a 5-1 home win in Game 6 with a 3-2 road success in Game 7.
Edmonton then gave themselves an early advantage in the Western Conference Finals, winning 3-2 in overtime in Dallas, only to surrender the lead with 3-1 and 5-3 defeats in the next two games.
The Oilers knotted up the series on Wednesday though, as they recorded a 5-2 victory to level it at 2-2.
Dallas Stars Form
Dallas return home looking to bounce back from a Game 4 defeat that cost them the series lead in the Western Conference Finals.
The Stars, who went 52-21-9 in the regular season, opened the postseason with back-to-back home defeats against Vegas, but bounced back to win four of the next five meetings to progress.
They had to bounce back from losing the series opener against Colorado too, and they did it by winning three straight games before responding to a 5-3 defeat with a series-clinching 2-1 overtime win.
Dallas' unhealthy knack for going behind early continued in the first game of this series too, as they lost 3-2 in overtime to Edmonton.
The Stars again responded well to an early setback, recording 3-1 and 5-3 wins, but they surrendered the series lead in Game 4 as they were beaten 5-2 on the road.
Verdict
Edmonton have done a solid job on the road in the playoffs, while Dallas have slipped up several times on the home ice.
That makes the Oilers an appealing underdog as they try to build on their Game 4 victory.
