Washington head to Canada looking to bounce back from a defeat that ended their four-game win streak.
The Capitals started the second half of November with a three-game winning run, only to then lose back-to-back home games, 2-1 to Colorado and 3-2 to New Jersey.
They bounced back on the road though, downing Florida 4-1 and Tampa Bay 5-4, before returning home to beat the New York Islanders 5-4 in overtime.
Washington then made it four-in-a-row with a 6-5 victory at New Jersey, but they were unable to extend their streak on Tuesday.
The Capitals played host to San Jose and suffered a surprise 2-1 overtime defeat to the Sharks.
Toronto Maple Leafs Form
Toronto enter this matchup on a good run of form, having won 10 of their last 12 games and each of the last three.
The Maple Leafs began this sequence with three consecutive wins, before losing 3-0 at home to Ottawa.
They bounced back immediately though, starting a four-game winning run with 4-3 overtime victories over both Washington and Edmonton.
Toronto then beat Vegas 3-0 and Utah 3-2 at home, before seeing that run end with a 5-1 defeat at Florida.
The Maple Leafs have not lost since though, backing up a 5-3 win at Tampa Bay with home victories over Chicago, 4-1, and Nashville, 3-2.
Verdict
Washington have made a good start to the season, but their recent record against Toronto is horrible.
The Maple Leafs are in good form and have been on fire at home, so we are expecting the hosts to come out on top.
