Nashville vs Atlanta United Preview & Picks - Atlanta to shock their hosts and take all three points

Nashville have been very inconsistent this season, with their winless run now stretching to three games after they battled to a 1-1 draw with LAFC last time out. 

Atlanta United are still in the mix for the top-spot in the Eastern Conference this season, and they ended a run of two draws in a row with victory over Chicago Fire last week. 

When the two sides met last season, Atlanta secured a 2-2 draw on the road. This ended a run of two wins for Nashville. Prior to this, the two sides had drawn 2-2 in their previous two games. 

Nashville's inability to back up one win with another is starting to hurt them this season, with the side eight points short of New England Revolution at the top of the Eastern Conference. 

Their last match was an impressive 1-1 draw against an unbeaten LAFC, but this extended their winless run to three games after losing to New York City and drawing with Toronto FC. 

With just three wins in nine matches, Nashville know that they need to start backing up their decent performances with wins, or they will have a real fight on their hands to make it into the playoffs. 

Atlanta United have impressed this season, with a single loss coming from their opening nine matches of the campaign. 

Currently boasting a four-game unbeaten run, United have been able to defeat New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire, while they have shared the points with New York City and Toronto FC. 

On the road, United have not been majorly convincing, although there is only a small sample size of four matches to choose from. They have won once, lost once and drawn twice, with this hardly the sort of form of a top side. However, with a fixture against a misfiring Nashville to come, this could be the perfect chance to pick up their second away win of the season.
