Nashville vs FC Cincinnati Previews & Picks - Nashville to leapfrog Cincinnati in the MLS table with a win

Nashville were left frustrated in their last match as they allowed New England Revolution to leapfrog them in the table with a win. They now face a similarly tough test as they host a Nashville side that will move above them with a win. 

Nashville secured a pulsating 6-3 win over Cincinnati in a friendly back in February, with this mirroring the result when they hosted in 2021. These 6-3 wins sandwiched a 1-1 draw when the sides met in 2022 in the MLS. 

Nashville were hugely disappointing last weekend as they allowed New England Revolution to go above them in the table following a 1-0 loss on the road. 

This defeat followed wins over Houston Dynamo and Seattle Sounders and a draw with Orlando City. Their single loss means they sit in fourth in the Eastern Conference, three points short of Atlanta United at the top. 

As mentioned, a win in this one would see Nashville move above Cincinnati in the table, and it could also see them move to the top if results go their way. However, they will likely focus on beating the team in front of them rather than trying to top the table at this point. 

FC Cincinnati have been good this year, but they still have a propensity to drop points in matches. 

A 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo has come alongside a 1-0 triumph against the Seattle Sounders. These wins have been made less effective by draws with Orlando City and Chicago Fire, with both of their away matches seeing the side drop points. 

While Cincinnati are well in the race for the top-spots this season, they will want to find a way to turn their draws into wins as this is often the difference between a side finishing at the top and having to battle lower down the table.
