New York City and Inter Miami come into this match with very different runs of form behind them, with the former without a win, while the latter have two wins in two so far. 

Last season, New York City beat Inter Miami twice at home, while Inter Miami managed to win when they hosted this clash. That win for Inter Miami is the only time they have beaten City, who have won six of their last seven games between the sides. 

New York City have really struggled to get going at the start of the season as they are yet to taste victory in the MLS. 

A 2-0 loss to Nashville was quickly followed by a draw with Chicago Fire. This has seen City sink down to 13th in the Eastern Conference with a single point, already five behind New England Revolution at the top. 

Despite their poor form, City are yet to play at home, and they will fancy themselves to win this match and get their first triumph of the season. Last year, City finished in third in the Eastern Conference with 16 wins in 34 matches, and they will want to better that tally this time round. 

Inter Miami have been very good at the start of the new season with two wins coming in their opening two games. 

A pair of 2-0 wins over Montreal and Philadelphia Union has seen Inter Miami move up to second in the league with six points, and they will have aspirations of moving to the top with another win. 

This will be Inter's first game on the road this season, which provides a new set of challenges. With two clean sheets in their opening two games, the away side will look to stay compact at the back as they try to sneak a few goals of their own.
