Seattle Sounders vs Real Salt Lake Previews & Picks - Sounders to easily beat Real Salt Lake

Western Conference leaders the Seattle Sounders host third-placed Real Salt Lake in the MLS on Saturday in a match that has all the makings of a classic encounter. 

Real Salt Lake had the better of this encounter last season as they beat their opponents twice. Their first win over the Sounders came in a 1-0 win at home before they secured a 2-1 victory on the road in August. 

Seattle Sounders were in fine form in their opening game of the new season. They gave the Colorado Rapids a lesson in football as they dismantled them in a 4-0 victory.

Their win in their opener was enough to see them rise straight to the top of the table after a single game. Their excellent form in front of goal was matched by the fact they kept a clean sheet in an impressive win. 

A second win in as many games could see the Sounders go clear at the top if results go their way, and they will target another strong home performance this week. 

Real Salt Lake had to really fight for their first win of the season as they beat the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 on the road. Coming back from a goal down, Salt Lake scored twice in three minutes as Justen Glad scored in the 70th minute before Damir Kreilach netted three minutes later. 

This win came against the run of play as their hosts had the better of the contest. Ultimately, three points was all that mattered as Real Salt Lake look to start their season off in the best possible way.

With their seventh-place finish in 2022 just about seeing them into the playoffs, they will target a far more assured run in the regular season this time around as they look to contest deep into the playoffs.
