Droguet Chasing Career-Best Run
After back-to-back qualifying exits in Montpellier in 2024 and 2025, Titouan Droguet has finally broken the R1 barrier, defeating Jan Choinski in straight sets earlier this week.
It already marks a positive week for the Frenchman at an event where he previously struggled to get going. This is only his first tour-level main draw appearance of the season and just the fifth of his career, making the run even more notable.
Droguet will now chase only the second ATP quarterfinal of his career in what is still an early stage of his development.
His only previous quarterfinal run came on the clay courts of Umag last year, where he also entered as a qualifier. On that occasion he beat Vit Kopriva in the second round before his run came to an end.

Kovacevic Back in Montpellier Groove
Aleksandar Kovacevic faced a tricky opening test in Montpellier against in-form French teenager Moise Kouame.
It proved to be a stern challenge, but the American showed great resolve to dig deep and secure a three-set comeback victory.
The only time Kovacevic cleared the first-round hurdle at tour level this season before this week came in Brisbane, where he turned a good start into a semifinal run.
He will need more wins like this to protect valuable ranking points. His debut campaign in Montpellier last year was a massive success, as he entered as a qualifier and won six matches to reach the final.
That run included standout victories over Alexander Bublik and Andrey Rublev before he eventually finished runner-up.
