New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox Picks & Betting Tips

Both teams are coming off a day off.

New York (86- 67) has won three straight games and currently sit in the AL last wild card spot, 1.0 game ahead of Toronto.

The Yankees have won four of six overall and are 7-3 in last 10. New York is 41-34 on the road and 57-44 vs. RHPs.

Cole is coming off one of his worst starts of the season as the he allowed 10 hits and 7 runs in 5.2 innings of work in a 11-1 loss to Cleveland on Sept. 19. It is the fourth time in the last four months that he has registered a game score of under 40.

Boston is in fourth place in the AL East, 2.0 games ahead of New York and 3.0 games in front of Toronto.

Boston (88-65) has won seven straight, which is the Red Sox longest since winning eight in a row at the end of June-to-early July, and are 8-2 in the last 10.  The Red Sox is 40-37 at home and 34-24 vs LHPs.

Eovaldi has been solid all season but is in the process of having his best month of the year with a 2.70 ERA as he has allowed eight runs and 22 hits in 23.1 innings of work. He has permitted three or fewer runs in eight straight starts.

Head To Head

The Red Sox’s pitching staff has compiled a 8-3 record during this 11 game stretch with a 2.83 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and .237 OBA.

This is a very important game for both squads as neither team wants to lose ground. Both teams are in good form and each offense has been really clicking recently.
Cole, who usually doesn’t have poor performances in back-to-back games, has really struggled against the Red Sox this year – particularly at Fenway Park. He is just 1-2 with a 5.06 ERA against the Red Sox this year, allowing 14 of the 19 hits and 9 of the 10 runs he has given up to the Sox at Fenway. Boston is hitting .292 against Cole.

Meanwhile, Evoaldi has been dealing lately and has really enjoyed pitching at Fenway this year. He also has pitched well against the Yankees, posting a 2-1 record with a 2.01 ERA and a .256 BAA.
