Francis Ngannou is riding a five-fight win streak as he prepares for his first defence of the UFC heavyweight title.
Ngannou’s career stalled briefly in 2018 when he was outclassed by Stipe Miocic over five rounds in his first crack at winning the belt.
He then followed that up with a gun-shy performance in a decision loss to Derrick Lewis six months later.

Ngannou then earned himself a second shot at the UFC title by stopping Jairzinho Rozenstruik in just 20 seconds.
The 35-year-old Cameroonian took his second chance at becoming the ‘baddest man on the planet’, knocking out Miocic in the second round.
That win took Ngannou’s professional record to 16-3, with 12 wins coming via KO/TKO and three by submission.

Giryl Gane has compiled a perfect 10-0 professional record since making his debut in August 2018.
After three fights he signed with the UFC and made a fast start with back-to-back submission wins over Raphael Pessoa and Don’Tale Mayes.
Gane took his UFC record to 3-0 when he bested Tanner Boser over three rounds, and that win earned him a crack at the big guns.
He knocked out former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos in the second round in his sole outing of 2020.
The 31-year-old Frenchman followed that up with a decision win over the dangerous Jairzinho Rozenstruik to kick off 2021.
He then bested Alexander Volkov over five rounds to continues his climb up the heavyweight ladder.
That win resulted in a shot at the interim UFC belt, and Gane made the most of his opportunity by stopping Derrick Lewis inside three rounds.
That was the 10th win of Gane’s career and he now has four KO/TKO victories and three submission successes.
