Jacksonville Jaguars at Cincinnati Bengals Picks & Betting Tips

Cincinnati can make it back-to-back wins and cover on Thursday Night Football.

A lack of pass rush will give Joe Burrow plenty of time to find his favorite targets in the passing game.

And on the ground we should expect the Bengals to give Jacksonville a heavy dose of Joe Mixon.

Throw in a couple of turnovers by a sloppy Jacksonville office and we should see the Bengals win.

  • Cincinnati Bengals are 2-1-0 ATS so far this season
  • Cincinnati Bengals have had at least 1 turnover per game so far
  • Jacksonville Jaguars have an 0-3 record
  • Jacksonville Jaguars have lost all 3 games by 10+ points
  • Jacksonville Jaguars are 0-3-0 ATS so far this season
  • Jacksonville Jaguars offense ranks #1 in turnovers (9)

Head To Head

  • Cincinnati Bengals won 33-25 when the two teams met last season

Jacksonville Jaguars Form

Jacksonville have made an 0-3 start to life under Urban Meyer and are heading back out on the road.

Rookie QB Trevor Lawrence threw three picks as the Jaguars were beaten 37-21 by Houston in their season opener.

Things did not get much better a week later as Lawrence was picked off twice in a 23-13 loss in Denver.

The Jaguars held a 19-10 late in the third last Sunday, but Arizona came storming back to win 31-19.

QB Lawrence has been given a rude welcome to the NFL. He is 64/118 for five touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also has a couple of fumbles.

RB James Robinson has 252 yards from scrimmage and a TD, while Marvin Jones leads the receivers with 194 yards and a couple of scores.

Defensively they rank #28 in total points allowed (91), #28 in points allowed per game (30.3), #29 in total yards allowed (1,254) and #28 in yards allowed per game (418.0).

Cincinnati Bengals Form

Cincinnati have made a solid start to the season, winning two of their first three games.

The Bengals blew a fourth-quarter lead before finally seeing off Minnesota in overtime in Week 1, 27-24.

A week later Joe Burrow endured a nightmare few minutes as he threw interceptions on three straight passing attempts in a 20-17 loss in Chicago.

The response was good though. Cincinnati won a big AFC North showdown with Pittsburgh, 24-10.

Burrow has been in solid form despite his woes in Chicago. He is 53/75 for 640 yards, seven touchdowns and four picks.

Tyler Boys has been his favorite target, hauling in 14 of his 19 targets for 141 yards and a score.

His biggest weapon in the passing game has been Ja’Marr Chase. He has 220 yards and four TDs already.

Joe Mixon is key to this offense though. He has rebounded from a quiet day in Chicago and now has 315 yards from scrimmage and a score.

The defense is top 10 in points and yards per game. They have also forced at least one turnover in each of their games so far.

Verdict

Cincinnati are hardly the NFL’s elite but this Jacksonville team has been horrible through three games.

The defense is getting gashed and the offense is turning the ball over routinely.

This is a great chance for the Bengals to string together a couple of wins. They can win and cover.
