Attempts to legalize sports betting in 2020 were shelved when the session was ended early due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Three more bills are up for consideration in 2021 though and the general belief is that one could be passed in 2021, opening up Missouri to retail and online betting.

Can I Bet In Other States While It Is Banned In Missouri?

Most States that allow in-person and online gambling do not require you to be a resident in order to place a bet. However, you must register and place your bets within State lines, and you must also be aged 21 or older.

Four of Missouri’s neighboring States currently offer legalized sports betting in one form or another. Arkansas is limited to retail betting, while Illinois, Iowa and Tennessee have legalized online sports betting.
