Several bills have been filed in an attempt to legalize betting in Texas before this year.

Those bills are likely to face strong opposition from lieutenant governor Dan Patrick, who is strongly opposed to gambling.

“[Legalized betting is] not even an issue that’s going to see the light of day this session,” Patrick told Chad Hasty on KFYO in Lubbock back in February.

Can I Bet In Other States While It Is Banned In Texas?

Most States that allow in-person and online gambling do not require you to be a resident in order to place a bet. However, you must register and place your bets within State lines, and you must also be aged 21 or older.
