Ottawa Redblacks at Hamilton Tiger-Cats Predictions & Picks

Hamilton are tipped to cover as they wrap up the season with a win.

Ottawa avoided a winless season with their victory over a weakened Toronto team last week, but the Tiger-Cats have had their number in recent seasons and that can continue here.
  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings
  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats are 7-2 in the last 9 meetings at home
  • Ottawa Redblacks are 0-8 on the road this season
  • The Under has cashed in each of the last 4 meetings

Head To Head

  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats lead the all-time series 20-12
  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats won 34-16 when the two teams last met on October 2

Ottawa Redblacks Form

Ottawa go into their final game of the season having avoided a winless campaign with last week’s victory over Toronto.

The Redblacks went into that matchup having lost 16 straight games, and appeared to be on the brink of an 0-17 campaign when the Argonauts went six points up with a 30 seconds to go.

However, with limited time on the clock, rookie quarterback Bryson Barnes was able to lead the team downfield, with a 21-yard scramble setting them up just outside the redzone.

Barnes then hit Ayden Eberhardt for the game-tying touchdown, before Paul Geelen sealed a 40-39 victory for Ottawa by converting his kick.

Barnes finished the game 27 of 37 for 339 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 62 yards.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Form

Hamilton will look to end a disappointing season on a positive note by recording their sixth win of the season.

The Tiger-Cats rallied from an opening day defeat with back-to-back wins, but that was as good as it got for the rest of the campaign.

They have won just three games since then, and have not managed to string any wins together over the past couple of months.

Hamilton lost five straight between late August and late September to end their playoff hopes.

The Tiger-Cats snapped that skid with a 34-16 victory in Ottawa, only to return to losing ways last time out as they fell 27-12 to Edmonton.

Verdict

Ottawa did break their duck last weekend, but it took all 60 minutes and 40 points for them to get the job done, and that is unsustainable.

Therefore we are backing Hamilton – they have home advantage and beat the Redblacks on the road earlier this month.
