Philadelphia head to Detroit having made a fast start to the season with seven wins in eight games.
The 76ers made some huge moves in the offseason to bring in LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, and so far that has paid off.
They beat defending champions New York on the road on opening night, 106-100, and followed that up with home wins against Cleveland, 114-106, and Milwaukee, 127-116.
Philadelphia’s perfect start was ended by a 106-93 home defeat to Detroit, but they immediately rebounded on the road, beating Indiana 114-109.
The 76ers have since followed that up by sandwiching a 109-104 success in Charlotte with home wins over New York, 98-93, and Chicago, 126-107.
Detroit Pistons Form
Detroit go into this big Eastern Conference clash having also made a strong start to the season, winning six of their first seven games.
The Pistons opened with a 121-113 over Boston at home, and backed that up on the road as they beat Miami 128-111 and Philadelphia 106-93.
They finally tasted defeat for the first time in New York, as they lost 111-97 to the Knicks, but they have responded to that defeat with three straight wins.
Detroit got back on track as they returned home to beat Charlotte 97-89 in a low-scoring matchup.
The Pistons then backed that up on the road as they won 110-94 in Brooklyn, and beat the Hornets in the rematch, 124-91.
Verdict
Both teams are off to great starts and you could make a case for both as they continue to play elite basketball at the defensive end.
Detroit already boast a win over Philadelphia though, and they did it on the road, so we are siding with the Pistons in this one.
