Oregon at Ohio State Predictions & Picks

Ohio State are tipped to cover as they return to winning ways on Saturday.

The Buckeyes’ offense has struggled without Julian Sayin, but they can lean on a talented defense against an Oregon team that has underwhelmed and not travelled well.
  • Ohio State are 6-2 this season
  • Oregon are 1-2 on the road this season
  • Oregon are 3-5-0 ATS this season
  • The Under has cashed in 3 of Ohio State’s last 4 games

Head To Head

  • Ohio State lead the all-time series 10-2
  • Ohio State won 41-21 when the two teams last met in January 2025

Oregon Form

Oregon head to Ohio State having rebounded from their third conference loss of the season to improve to 5-3.

The Ducks made hard work of their 34-27 season-opening win over Boise State, and then suffered a surprise 39-31 defeat at Oklahoma State as their stock plummeted.

They rebounded with an 84-0 shutout of Portland State, before opening their Big Ten campaign with a 41-27 victory at USC.

Oregon failed to make it three-in-a-row though, as they were beaten 21-15 at UCLA, and they were then unable to back up a 17-14 victory over Nebraska, as they lost 21-10 at Illinois.

The Ducks do make this trip on the back of a win though, having downed Northwestern last weekend, 34-26.

Ohio State Form

Ohio State go into this game looking to rebound from their second defeat of the season, which has left them 6-2.

The Buckeyes opened with three non-conference games, sandwiching a 24-23 defeat at Texas with blowout wins over Ball State, 56-3, and Kent State, 59-3.

They then kicked off their Big Ten schedule with a 41-19 win over Illinois, and backed that up by beating Iowa 31-14 on the road, and Maryland 45-16 at home.

That set up a huge matchup with defending national champions Indiana, and Ohio State overcame the loss of quarterback Julian Sayin as they ground out a 19-15 victory.

However, in their first full game without Sayin, the Buckeyes lost 30-18 at USC last weekend.

Verdict

Ohio State’s first outing without Sayin proved to be a rough one, but they are back home for this one and they do still boast a tough defense.

Therefore we are backing the Buckeyes to bounce back against an Oregon team that has disappointed this season.
