NHL Shots on Goal Parlay Nov. 3 - Connor Leads the Volume

  • Parlay tips Connor, Toews and Bouchard to go over their shots on goal lines.
  • All three average big minutes and have cleared their lines in at least half their games.
  • Toews' leg is riskiest due to Colorado's back-to-back and occasional low shot totals.

NHL Shots on Goal Parlay for Tonight Nov. 3

I'm building tonight's parlay around three players from three different games who get big minutes and shoot a lot: Kyle Connor, Devon Toews and Evan Bouchard, all to go over their shots on goal lines. The three legs pay +565 combined at Stake.

All three have cleared tonight's number in at least half their games. Connor has 3 or more shots in 12 of his 15 games and averages 4.0 a night.

Toews plays 20:42 a night for a Colorado side that out-shoots almost everyone, and Columbus allow 27.1 shots a game. Bouchard has 3 or more shots in 9 of 15, and New Jersey's penalty kill is running at 70%, which should get him plenty of power-play time.

Key Stats

  • Connor averages 4.0 shots and 3:24 of power-play time a game, and he had 5 shots against Montreal on Oct. 25
  • Colorado average 30.6 shots a game, 4th most, and Toews has 2 or more shots in 6 of his last 10
  • Edmonton's power play is converting at 32.7%, and New Jersey's penalty kill has stopped only 70% of chances
  • +565 is the combined price for three players who clear their line in at least half their games

Leg 1: Kyle Connor Over 2.5 Shots (Jets vs Canadiens, 7 p.m. ET)

Connor is Winnipeg's shot engine, with 60 shots in 15 games and 11 goals. He played 24:23 with more than six minutes on the power play when these teams met on Oct. 25, and put 5 shots on goal. Montreal allow 27.6 shots a game, so there's no reason to expect him to get shut down.

The worry is recent form. He has only 2 shots in each of his last two games, and Winnipeg have scored just 8 goals during a 5-game losing streak. I'm still on him because his ice time hasn't dropped, and 12 of 15 is too strong a rate to drop after two quiet nights.

Leg 2: Devon Toews Over 1.5 Shots (Avalanche vs Blue Jackets, 7 p.m. ET)

Toews has 5 goals from the blue line and plays 20:42 a night, with 1:43 on the power play. Colorado average 30.6 shots a game, and Columbus have lost 3 of their last 5. He's cleared 1.5 in 6 of his last 10.

This is the leg with the most risk. Colorado played in Chicago last night, so it's the second half of a back-to-back, and Toews has been held without a shot four times this season. At 2.20 the price makes up for that, and it's a big part of why the parlay pays as much as it does.

Leg 3: Evan Bouchard Over 2.5 Shots (Oilers vs Devils, 7.30 p.m. ET)

Bouchard plays 25:51 a night and averages about four minutes on an Edmonton power play converting 32.7%. New Jersey's 70% penalty kill should give him a few extra looks from the point. He's had 3 or more shots in 3 of his last 5, and 6 in two games this season.

The Devils are the hardest matchup of the three, allowing only 24.8 shots a game. Edmonton also play their third road game in four nights, and Bouchard was held to 2 shots in New York on Sunday. I'm backing his minutes to beat the matchup at 1.95.

Verdict

Connor gets his shots against a Montreal side he peppered last week, Toews gets two from the Colorado blue line, and Bouchard's power-play time carries him past 2.5 in New Jersey.
