Arsenal vs Everton Predictions

Arsenal return to the Emirates Stadium for a Premier League clash with Everton on Saturday.

The champions remain solid and consistent, and should see off an Everton side with a poor record at this venue.

Arsenal to win & under 3.5 goals is my best bet.

Arsenal to Claim Low-Scoring Home Win

  • Arsenal won 10 of their last 12 matches
  • Arsenal have seen an average of 2.28 goals per game in their last 7 matches (EPL)
  • Arsenal have seen under 3.5 goals in their last 17 matches (EPL)
  • Arsenal have seen under 3.5 goals in 8 of their last 9 matches against Everton
  • Everton lost 4 of their last 5 away matches against Arsenal
  • Everton have seen under 3.5 goals in 5 of their last 7 matches

Arsenal Enjoy H2H Advantage

Arsenal and Everton have met 13 times in competitive action since 2020. Mikel Arteta's side won seven of those fixtures, while Everton claimed four victories. Two matches finished level.

The Gunners eased to a 2-0 win in their most recent encounter at the Emirates in March.

Arsenal Pick up Point in Munich

Arsenal return to London after an entertaining 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Eberechi Eze put the visitors ahead before Alphonso Davies brought the hosts level after a delightful assist from Harry Kane.

The former Tottenham forward scored a second-half penalty to put Bayern ahead, but Declan Rice's late equaliser earned Mikel Arteta's side a deserved point.

Final match stats reflected the even nature of an exciting encounter in Munich. The Gunners had slightly more possession (54%) and edged the shot count 14-13, but Bayern created the better chances. The hosts registered an xG total of 2.51 compared to Arsenal's 1.40.

Wednesday's draw extended the Gunners' unbeaten run to four matches, after three successive victories against Leeds, Lille and Nottingham Forest. The EPL champions have lost just once in 12 competitive fixtures this season.

Arsenal have been particularly strong at home, winning 19 and losing just two of their last 23 Premier League games at the Emirates.

Defensively sound, Arteta's side kept clean sheets in six of their last 12 league fixtures, while they have conceded just five in seven matches this season.

Everton Slip to Chelsea Home Defeat

Everton travel to the Emirates after a lacklustre 2-0 home defeat against Chelsea last Saturday.

Pedro Neto scored twice in the second half to end the Toffees' unbeaten start to the EPL season.

The Portuguese winger struck just after the restart before adding a late second as David Moyes's side struggled to create chances at the Hill Dickinson.

Final match stats highlighted Everton’s lack of attacking threat. The Toffees managed just six shots to Chelsea's 18 and recorded a much lower xG total (0.43-1.47).

Everton had enjoyed an eight-game winning run before last weekend's setback, including EPL wins against Crystal Palace and Ipswich.

The visitors now arrive in London eighth in the division with ten points picked up from seven matches.

Tough to beat on the road, Everton have drawn all three away league matches this season. Moyes's side collected a point at Bournemouth (1-1), Tottenham (0-0) and Hull (2-2).

A lack of depth, particularly in the forward areas, continues to hinder the Toffees' progress. Everton scored only six goals in their six most recent league fixtures.

Arsenal vs Everton Team News

Arsenal: (4-2-3-1) David Raya; Ben White, Ezri Konsa, Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori; Bruno Guimaraes, Declan Rice; Noni Madueke, Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze; Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal boss Arteta will be forced into at least one change from the side that held Bayern earlier this week. Bukayo Saka is ruled out after limping out of that contest with a thigh injury.

Eberechi Eze is expected to start after replacing Saka and scoring against Bayern.

Injured trio William Saliba, Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis remain sidelined.

"That is one of the highest levels we played. Two teams who wanted to press each other and wanted to attack and wanted to play. It was a fascinating game.

"We started the game incredibly well; we were so dominant. Then we had to adapt without Saka. In the second half, the game was a bit even, and they scored the goals, and we had to react, which we did. "

"We scored, and we had the chance to win it too. That is the level."

Everton: (4-2-3-1) Jordan Pickford; Ainsley Maitland-Niles, James Tarkowski, Jarrad Branthwaite, Vitaliy Mykolenko; James Garner, Harrison Armstrong; Merlin Rohl, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jack Grealish; Thierno Barry.

Everton boss Moyes has no injury issues ahead of the trip to the Emirates this weekend.

Thierno Barry will continue to lead the line despite an ineffective display against Chelsea.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Moyes admitted Everton had not created enough chances against Chelsea:

"Not as good as we wanted. We got a little bit unlucky with the goals. One came right after half-time and was a blow to us. It wasn't good defending, but it takes a couple deflections before it gets to (Pedro) Neto, and it makes it a relatively easy finish for him.”

“I thought there were parts of the game we did OK, but mainly we didn't offer enough to create enough and didn't make enough chances."

Verdict

Everton are usually tough to beat on their travels, but Arsenal's quality should be enough to secure a narrow home win.

Arsenal to win & under 3.5 goals is my best bet.
