Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal Predictions

Nottingham Forest welcome Arsenal to the City Ground for a Premier League encounter on Sunday.

The Gunners have won eight of nine matches this season and should take advantage of Forest's poor home record.

Arsenal to win is my best bet.

Arsenal Tipped to Maintain Winning Form

  • Nottingham Forest lost 4 of their last 7 matches
  • Nottingham Forest lost 4 of their last 6 matches against Arsenal
  • Arsenal won 8 of their 9 matches

Arsenal Unbeaten in the Last Six Meetings

Nottingham Forest and Arsenal have met nine times since 2020. The Gunners won five of those encounters. Forest claimed two victories while two games finished level.

Arsenal are unbeaten in the last six meetings, keeping clean sheets in each of their four most recent meetings.

Forest Frustrated at Palace

Nottingham Forest return to the City Ground after a disappointing 3-1 reversal at Crystal Palace last Sunday.

Dan Ndoye gave the visitors an early lead, but Daichi Kamada and Jefferson Lerma turned the contest around before the interval. Yeremy Pino added a third after the break to condemn Oliver Glasner to a painful defeat on his return to Selhurst Park.

Forest had enough chances to take something from the game. The Garibaldis controlled possession (57%), outshot Palace 24-13 and registered a higher xG total of 2.97 compared to the hosts' 2.38.

The visitors also hit the woodwork three times and missed seven big chances in a frustrating day at Selhurst Park.

Last weekend's road reversal leaves Forest 15th in the division with just five points secured from six matches.

The Reds have scored just five league goals, while they remain goalless in three home EPL fixtures this season. Forest lost 1-0 against both Leeds and Coventry, either side of a goalless draw with Tottenham.

Arsenal Build Momentum After European Win

Arsenal travel to Nottingham after a hard-fought 3-0 Champions League victory against Lille on Tuesday.

Jurrien Timber broke the deadlock after 64 minutes before Eberechi Eze and substitute Bukayo Saka secured victory for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta's side dominated the contest despite taking over an hour to find the breakthrough. They had 58% possession, outshot Lille 16-4 and registered an xG of 1.85 compared to the visitors' 0.38. Lille failed to record a single effort on target.

Arsenal have now won eight of nine competitive matches this season, with a 3-0 defeat at Brighton before the international break their only setback.

On the road, the EPL champions secured narrow victories at Aston Villa, Napoli and Sunderland before their disappointing display at Brighton.

Over a longer period, the Gunners won six of their last eight EPL away fixtures.

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal Team News

Nottingham Forest: (3-4-2-1) Matz Sels; Ola Aina, Ousmane Diomande, Murillo; Daniel Munoz, Xaver Schlager, James McAtee, Neco Williams; Morgan Gibbs-White, Dan Ndoye; Liam Delap.

Forest boss Glasner has three confirmed absentees for Sunday's Premier League contest.

Igor Jesus misses out with a calf injury while Nikola Milenkovic and Nicolo Savona are sidelined with knee problems.

Swiss forward Dan Ndoye is expected to retain his place in the first XI after scoring at Selhurst Park.

Speaking to the BBC, Glasner praised Forest's performance but rued their missed chances against Crystal Palace.

"We didn't kill the game off, and we should have done it, creating so many chances. I played many games here, and I haven't seen a team create so many chances. At the end, we did not convert them.”

"Today it looks like it is just me who is responsible for this; call it karma or whatever, but it was like I didn't deserve to win at Selhurst Park because the players did everything. Nobody to blame for anything; the effort was there, and the quality was there.”

"This performance will give us confidence even if it feels strange with the result.”

Arsenal: (4-2-3-1) David Raya; Ben White, Ezri Konsa, Gabriel Magalhaes, Riccardo Calafiori; Declan Rice, Bruno Guimaraes; Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze; Kai Havertz.

Head coach Arteta is likely to make changes to his selection on Sunday. Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz are expected to earn recalls after substitute appearances against Lille.

Injured trio William Saliba, Piero Hincapie and Christos Tzolis remain unavailable for selection.

Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi will be assessed after an ankle injury kept him out against Lille.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Arteta praised Arsenal's second-half improvement on Wednesday:
.
"We had to increase the technical level; teams are really well organised at this level. We gave simple things away - bad touches, mistimed things; when we sent balls into the box, it was into the wrong areas, and we get caught.”

“Once we did that better, we started to play in the opposition box and with the quality we have, they made a difference."
