Montreal Alouettes at Hamilton Tiger-Cats Predictions & Picks

Montreal are tipped to cover as they bounce back from last week’s loss.

The Alouettes have dominated the Tiger-Cats in recent seasons, and Hamilton’s current form offers little to suggest that trend will change.

  • Montreal Alouettes are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings
  • Montreal Alouettes are 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings
  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats are 2-8 in their previous 10 games
  • Each of the last 10 meetings have produced under 60.5 points

Head To Head

  • Montreal Alouettes lead the all-time series 84-64-4
  • Montreal Alouettes won 31-18 when the two teams last met on July 26

Montreal Alouettes Form

Montreal head to Hamilton on the back of a defeat, but with a playoff place already secured thanks to a 10-3 record.

The Alouettes enjoyed a seven-game win streak between late June and late August to open up a healthy lead at the top of the East.

That run included a 31-18 victory over Friday’s opponents Hamilton – who they also beat 30-27 in overtime on opening day.

Montreal’s streak was finally ended by a 44-28 defeat at Winnipeg, but they issued an immediate response in the form of a 37-30 victory over the BC Lions.

The Alouettes failed to make it back-to-back wins over the Lions though, as they were beaten 48-29 on the road last Saturday.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Form

Hamilton go into this matchup in miserable form, having lost eight of their last 10 games and each of the last three to fall to 4-9.

The Tiger-Cats responded to a season-opening defeat with back-to-back wins, but it has been all downhill since then.

They lost their next two, and then failed to follow up a 24-23 win over Toronto as they lost three consecutive games.

Hamilton avoided a fourth straight loss as they upset defending champions Saskatchewan, 26-19, in the middle of August, but they have not won since.

The Tiger-Cats lost 39-20 in Toronto and 28-23 at Calgary, before returning home for a 37-22 loss to the Argonauts.

Verdict

Montreal have a playoff place secured, but top spot in the East has not been clinched just yet.

The Alouettes can take a step closer to doing that by beating Hamilton for the third time this season.
