Toronto booked their place in the Grey Cup by winning 12 of the 20 games they have played this season.
A three-game win streak late in the regular season proved to be crucial as they finished second in the East Division with a 10-8 record.
They then won a high-scoring showdown with Ottawa in the East Semi-Finals, beating the Redblacks 58-28.
That set up a meeting with Montreal in the East Final, and despite being underdogs going into the game, Toronto beat the defending champions, 30-28.
It was not all good news for the Argonauts however, as they lost starting quarterback Chad Kelly to a broken ankle during the game.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg overcame a miserable start to the season by winning 10 times in their last 11 games to seal another trip to the Grey Cup.
The Blue Bombers have been a Grey Cup fixture in recent years, but their playoff hopes took a huge hit as they lost their first four games and six of the first eight.
They sparked a spectacular turnaround at the start of August though, beating the BC Lions 25-0 to kick-start an eight-game win streak.
Winnipeg’s run was ended by a 14-11 loss to Grey Cup opponents Toronto, but they bounced back immediately to close out the regular season with a 28-27 win over Montreal.
The Blue Bombers’ 11-7 regular-season record earned them a playoff bye, and when they returned to action last week they beat Saskatchewan 38-22 in the West Final.
