Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg return to the postseason despite an underwhelming regular season campaign that saw them go 8-8.
The Blue Bombers have been a Grey Cup fixture in recent seasons, but have struggled for consistency during the 2026 campaign.
Their best run came in July when they reeled off three consecutive victories, only to then lose four of the next seven before their final bye week.
Winnipeg returned to action with a 30-28 loss to Toronto, followed by a 37-10 blowout in Montreal, but rallied to beat Calgary 33-28 at home.
The Blue Bombers failed to back that up as they lost 35-27 in Edmonton, but they did close out the regular season on a positive note, beating the BC Lions 34-10 on the road.
Toronto Argonauts Form
Toronto are also headed to the postseason despite winning only half of their regular season matchups.
The Argonauts’ season was impacted by the World Cup though, as they were displaced from their BMO Field home for the first couple of months.
They managed to enter September at 5-6 though, and enjoyed a four-game win streak that month that proved to be enough to secure playoff football.
Toronto beat Hamilton 37-22, and backed that up by downing Ottawa, 26-23, Edmonton, 24-19, and Winnipeg, 30-28.
The Argonauts then closed out the regular season by losing 24-17 to BC, 40-39 at Ottawa, and 33-16 to Montreal.
Verdict
Toronto went cold over the final few weeks of the regular season, but they had taken their foot off the gas with a playoff place secured.
We expect to see a much better performance here as they take advantage of a flawed Blue Bombers defense to march on in the postseason.
