Minnesota Form
Minnesota head to Indiana on the back of their best win of the season so far, which improved them to 5-2.
The Golden Gophers opened with a 59-7 blowout of Eastern Illinois, only to lose 38-13 when they hosted Mississippi State a week later.
They rebounded quickly to beat Akron 41-7, and then kicked off their Big Ten schedule with upset wins over Washington, 27-24, and Michigan, 20-14.
Minnesota failed to make it three-in-a-row in the conference as they fell 41-13 at Purdue, but they issued the perfect response.
The Golden Gophers hosted ranked Iowa last weekend, and stunned the Hawkeyes with a 13-10 victory.
Indiana Form
Indiana go into this matchup having rebounded from their first defeat of the season to take their record to 7-1.
The Hoosiers began that defence of the national title with three non-conference wins, beating North Texas 52-16, Howard 55-0 and Western Kentucky 38-0.
Then then kicked off their Big Ten slate with a 29-23 home win against Northwestern, before heading out on the road to down Rutgers, 47-15, and Nebraska, 20-17.
Indiana’s win streak was finally ended in mid-October though, as they were beaten 19-15 at home by Ohio State.
The Hoosiers did bounce back a week later though, although they were far from convincing in a 13-6 win over Michigan.
Verdict
Indiana are the better team and are expected to win this matchup, but this is a lot of points for a team that has rarely covered and has not scored more than 20 points since October 3.
Minnesota have been the more reliable spread bet and they have been a solid underdog, so give us the Golden Gophers and the free points.
