Calgary Flames vs Seattle Kraken Prediction and Pick - ExpertPicks

Every meeting between these two teams this season has produced at least seven goals.

The Calgary Flames take on the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena, with puck drop at 10 p.m. ET, and my Flames vs Kraken prediction is about goals once again.

Seattle are scoring and conceding 3.71 goals a game, and seven of the last 10 games across the two teams' last five have gone over 6.5. At 2.05, that's too big a price.

Chandler Stephenson is Seattle's set-up man. He has 10 assists in 14 games and an assist in seven of his last 10, so 2.40 is a strong price on a night I expect goals.

Mikael Backlund is the bigger price on the card. He's had three or more shots on goal in six of 13 games, including five against Colorado and four in San Jose, and 2.72 is generous.

  • Seattle's penalty kill is working at only 64.1%.
  • Calgary's power play is converting at 30.6%.
  • Seattle are allowing 30.8 shots a game.
  • Backlund has 37 shots on goal in 13 games.

Head to Head

Seattle won the 2025-26 season series 2-1, and they lead this season's series 2-1 after winning the first two meetings 6-1.

The last meeting was October 30, 2026, at Scotiabank Saddledome, where Calgary won 6-2. Morgan Frost scored on a power play 2.32 into the game, and Matvei Gridin and Joel Farabee scored 1.57 apart in the second to make it 4-1.

Flames Form

Calgary are 7-8 and have won three of their last five.

On Saturday in Colorado, the Flames were down 4-0 before Farabee and Martin Pospisil scored, and they lost 5-2. Monday's 2-1 win in San Jose came from their fourth line, with Adam Klapka scoring and setting up William Stromgren, while Dustin Wolf made 26 saves.

Jonathan Huberdeau is out with a hip injury, according to ESPN's preview, and Devin Cooley and Samuel Honzek are also out. Brennan Othmann is day to day. Wolf started on Monday, and Calgary haven't confirmed whether he or Arsenii Sergeev starts.

Kraken Form

Seattle are 8-5-1 and have allowed 21 goals in their last five games.

On October 28, Brandon Montour scored with 33 seconds left to beat Toronto 5-4. Two nights later, Calgary scored twice on the power play and won 6-2, with Philipp Grubauer allowing four goals on 14 shots.

Jared McCann is out with a lower-body injury, per ESPN, which takes a top scorer out of the lineup. Ryan Lindgren, Jake O'Brien and Jacob Melanson are also out. Seattle haven't confirmed whether Grubauer or Joey Daccord starts.

Verdict

Seattle's weak penalty kill against Calgary's power play should push this past six goals, with Stephenson setting one up and Backlund shooting.
